For 99 cents, you can get this wonderful air pillowFor 99 cents, you can get this wonderful air pillowI wanted to make you aware of the fact that your mechanized packaging system is doing a less than stellar job.

You see, I purchased one of your 99 cent Baked Lay’s air bags (I believe they are marketed as snack bags), and much to my chagrin, when I opened it, I found about 13 Baked Lay's chips inside.

This lack of quality control is quite appalling. Surely, your sophisticated packaging machinery needs to be re-calibrated.

I mean doesn't that robot know that each 99 cent bag of Back Lay's should contain no more than 10 chips - half of which should be broken into minute potato chip crumbs?

Those snack bags make terrific air pillows, and if that stupid machine is going to continue to fill the bag with actual potato chips, I'll have to find another air-filled product to lay my head on.

Please get back to me to let me know that you are working feverishly to improve your quality control.

With a salty chip on my shoulder,
John Farnswell

P.S. Have you considered selling Baked Lay's Ranch-style air bags? I think it could be a big hit.

Hi John,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about the problem you had with Baked Lay's. We are sorry to learn you had this experience. We are sharing the valuable information you provided with our quality teams responsible for making and distributing our products. We are also sending you a coupon to replace the package, and you should receive it in about a week.

During the manufacturing process, specialized equipment is used to remove underweight or empty packages or containers. Obviously, that did not happen in this case, and we apologize for this error. Please know we will make every effort to prevent a recurrence of the problem you experienced.

Feedback like yours allows us to continue to make our products and packages better every day. Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.

Best regards,

Tina

I make my living as an ebay seller. If not for Lays snack size potato chip air bags I would not be able to afford to ship my craptacular products safely. So I take issue with your complaint Mr. Farnswell. So what if an occassional potato chip makes it way into the air bag? This is the most efficient and sophisticated packaging material avaiable.

"During the manufacturing process, specialized equipment is used to remove underweight or empty packages or containers."

Where I come from, that's called a scale.
